Abstract
Modern youth involvement in communication through blogs makes it important to understand the determinants of choice of user trajectories in blog media space. The purpose of the study is to determine strategies of overcoming difficulties and the level of subjective well-being of young adults being participants of extreme blogging communication. Hypothesis: шnvolvement of young men in extreme blogging is unproductive and compensational, they typically choose ineffective strategies of coping behavior, a low level of subjective well-being which is closely related with the type of reaction on stress situations. The study involved 62 pejple (M=17,2). To identify their user preferences blog scaling procedure was used; immanent analysis was used to assess psychological potential of a stimulus video “Extreme hide-and-seek in the abandoned prison”; Ways of Coping Checklist (WCCL) and the method of assessment of subjective well-being Perma-Profiler were used to diagnose the participants. Results: extreme blogging participants most commonly use nonproductive coping strategies – avoidance and distancing; the level of their sujective well-being is remarkably lower than that of young men involved in not extreme kinds of blogging, and it is closely related with coping strategies being realized. Virtual compensation of weak ability of young men to actively address real challenges while watching and discussing extreme videos is nonproductive: reinforcing ineffective coping strategies it can induce subjective ill-being.
