The Analysis of Sense-Making Activity and Its Structural Components

Abstract
The article presents the analysis of theoretical and empirical researches of sense-making activity. The terms “sense-making” and “sense-making activity” have been compared and generalized. The empirical study has identified structural components of sense-making activity: “lifepurpose orientations”, “life-satisfaction index”, “level of self-control”, “sense of cohesion”, “lack of sense of self-actualization”, “cognitive sense”, and “flexibility”. All these components have specific features depending on gender identity. For a man it is important to know that his life is manageable and he has all necessary tools for setting and achieving the goals. For a woman it is more important to have an interest in her life, to live each day full of emotions, to feel herself a strong personality with free choice.
