Author(s)

Abstract

Increase in wrongful acts committed by adolescents requires a comprehensive analysis of the problem. The paper presents the results of the study of social deviations. The factors analyzed included intellectual development, family social status, sociometric status and others. The factor analysis of the results revealed a key role of intellectual disability as the cause of social deviations. In the second stage there was the comparison of watch-list adolescents registered at the Commission of Minors’ and Protection of Their Rights with their peers demonstrating socially approved norms of behavior. Sampling № 1included adolescents with preserved intelligence, sampling № 2 included intellectually disabled adolescents. Based on the findings, conclusions have been drawn and recommendations for preventive activities on social deviations of adolescents have been suggested.
