Some Peculiarities of the Use of the “Semantic Differential” Method when Studying Personality Identity Dynamics

Author(s)

Abstract
The use of the «semantic differential» method when studying personality identity dynamics of primary school-aged children, and adolescents is analyzed. The author points out that assessment of personality identity dynamics with the help of factors of the «semantic differential» method offered by V. F. Petrenko proves to be distorted. It is assumed that to assess basic changes of personality identity dynamics it is necessary to analyze the correlation of scales’ factors rather than factors of a certain scale individually. Analyzing the sample of the subjects of primary school and adolescence age with the help of the factor analysis and multidimensional methods, the author offers different models of scales correlation. The subsequent measurements show change in scales correlation.
