Abstract
We provide the results of the study of stress tolerance and educational motivation relationship among students of a pedagogical college. The study involved 165 students aged 16 to 21 years (average age 18,14±1,36 years), all respondents were female. We have obtained that increased stress levels are typical for first-year students during the adjustment period and third-year students when they enter practice. The dominant coping strategy was problem solving, but there was a tendency to avoid and react emotionally. The leading motives were professional and creative self–realization. A positive correlation was found between stress tolerance and motivation: the higher the motivation, the lower the stress (p < 0,05). The most resilient students use productive coping sessions and are focused on success. Practical recommendations include the development of adaptive coping strategies and motivation support during periods of learning crisis. The results of the study will be of interest to teachers and psychologists working in education.
