The paper discusses the personality of an adaptation subject. It presents a brief theoretical overview of Russian psychologists’ research of the adaptation process in the view of the subject approach. The focus is on the phenomenon of self-acceptance with emphasis on the study of self-acceptance as an attribute of adaptation subject’s personality. The phenomenon of self-acceptance is viewed an attribute of an actively self-developing personality rather than an integral personal attribute contributing to inner comfort, positive perception of themselves. Absolute self-acceptance means a high-performance activity of a subject aimed at self-comprehension and self-development, which makes it possible to study this phenomenon as an attribute of the personality of an adaptation subject. The author suggests that self-acceptance initiate subject’s activity and leads to realizing adaptation potential of the personality of an adaptation subject.
