The study is due to the need of counseling support for students when planning their own future during their university study. Value and semantic orientation of a desirable future was studied on the sampling of 1251 students differentiated according to gender, age, nationality, religion, residency, and field of study. A third of students demonstrated that value orientation of their future was underdeveloped. The same number of students was focused on various instrumental values. Others were weighted towards terminal values of self-actualization, family life, or material assets. A particular orientation of the view of the future is determined by belonging to a certain socio-cultural group. The results obtained improve scientific understanding of the content and determinants of student youth views of their future.
