Taking into Account Gender and Age Dimensions of Potential Bulling Participants When Planning Its Prevention

Abstract

The paper presents the results of the empirical research of gender and age aspects of potential bulling participants, and identifies main targets to be taken into account when a psychologist plans how to prevent it. The analysis of foreign and Russian psychological research devoted to the problem of bulling allowed the authors to suggest that the risk for a child to get into a bulling group depends on a combination of personality qualities and properties typical of each age and gender. To identify the correlation between the selected parameters the authors carried out statistical processing of the data using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, Pearson’s chi-squared test, and Cramer’s coefficient of contingency V. Gender and age aspect is more evident during adolescence.
