The urgency of psychological study of patriotism and its importance for efficient performance of a military serviceman has been given a scientific credence. Patriotism is interrelated with the level of development of personal meaning. The author described the program of developing patriotic attitude based on the principle of enculturation and involving reflexive work with precedent texts in psychological trainings. The results of a development experiment involving soldiers performing compulsory military service have been presented. The experiment showed statistically significant changes of the level of development of personal meaning of soldiers with their dynamics being higher than that one of soldiers not engaged in the experiment. In the control group soldiers with higher education had their level of development of personal meaning decreased, and soldiers with secondary education and low initial level of development of personal meaning had it increased.
