Study of Professional Deformation of the Officers of the Department of Internal Affairs (Case Study of Police Departments of “Irkutskoye” Inter-Municipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia)

Abstract
The paper presents the study of professional deformation of the officers of the department of Internal Affairs. A survey of the materials on the topic made it possible to identify three components in the structure of professional deformation: cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. Professional deformation of the officers of the department of Internal Affairs can be characterized by affective intolerance, proneness to conflict, difficulties in self-directed thinking, decline of criterion behavior. A group of officers with symptoms of professional deformation was identified they showed low level of affective tolerance, low level of anxiety, low self-control, lack of flexibility in interpreting a certain situation, and low level of achievement motivation. This group also included officers with threshold indexes according to the hyperthymic temperament, fixedness, meticulousness, cyclothymia, anxiety scales.
