Aspects of Value- Semantic Sphere and Learning Activity of Students of a Technical Higher Education Institution

Abstract

The paper deals with the issues of value-semantic sphere of the personality. One of the most important environmental drivers of forming life-purpose orientations during student days is studying at a higher educational institution and a personality attribute establishing framework for forming and modifying life-purpose constructs is student’s learning activity. The author brings forward the results of the study of some aspects of learning activity and life-purpose orientations, as well as their interrelation peculiar to the students of a technical university. The research is based on the assumption that life-purpose orientations and learning activity of a student have their dynamic and structural peculiarities. Structural peculiarities of life-purpose orientations and learning activity are represented by true to fact interrelations between life-purpose orientations and learning activity. Dynamic peculiarities have been revealed in a comparative study of the results of the diagnostics of value-semantic sphere and learning activity of technical university students during the whole period of study. The results obtained determine the correlation between indices of life-purpose orientations and learning activity.
