The article gives a theoretical observation of the problem and its actual state concerning ecologically unfavorable environment and its influence (within the admissible norms) on man’s psyche. There have been pointed out in psychology different aspects to study the problem and the main approaches to its elaboration. The limitations of these approaches have been mentioned as well. The necessity to study the problem based on the systemic principle within eco-psychological approach to mental evolution has been grounded too.
