Abstract
The article presents the results of the study of parenting burnout of mothers having children with disabilities. The sampling was divided into three groups depending on care complexity. The study has found that the structure of burnout differed between mothers with different level of care complexity. The group of mothers with a mild level of care complexity showed predominance of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization measures, while mothers with a severe level of care complexity tend to underestimate their achievement as a parent. In the overall sampling, an average level of perfectionism has been shown to be related to emotional exhaustion and is its predictor. Each subgroup has shown specific relationships between personality traits and parenting burnout measures. In the group where mothers had mild level of care complexity there were direct correlations between benevolence and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. In the group where mothers had severe level of care complexity emotional exhaustion established positive correlation with perfectionism focused on others, and negative one with a person’s integrity.
