The article presents the results obtained at the first stage of empirical development of the problem of youth resilience in the face of environmental and socio-economic challenges. There revealed indicators of the resilience students studying in the city of Chita – the territory with complicated natural and social conditions. The work carried out in line with the socio-psychological approach in the framework of the international (Russia – South Africa) research project. The data received from the questionnaire used in the “Resilient youth in a stressed environment” (RYSE) the project, developed in RSA, allow us to conclude that the indicators of resilience the majority of the subjects correspond to an average norm or a high level of values on the basic parameters (household status/ecological conditions, resilience risks, resilience measure, outcomes).
