Personality Competence in Self-Instruction: the Analysis of the Concept

In this article such categories as «education» and «self-education» are regarded from the position of competence approach. Based on the theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature resources, the author defines the term «personal competence in education», and also describes its essential characteristics.
