Topicality of the emotional intellect study is determined by social and scientific demand for the analysis of its influence on socio-psychological personality adaptation. The researches point out that high level of emotional intellect determines high level of adaptability, and emotional competence is an overriding quality of future specialists in a variety of fields of expertise. The results of the empirical study of university students’ emotional intellect studying at different faculties have been discussed in the paper. The author has presented a detailed quantitative and informative analysis of the study results. The results obtained suggest that specificity of educational and professional activity is an essential aspect and one of the factors of development of emotional intellect of future specialists.
