The paper is concerned with the study of peculiarities of color choice by people with high or low level of self-esteem. Both broad color choices peculiar to people with different self-esteem and certain peculiarities such as position of particular colors, neurotic color displacement, various complex symptoms are shown. People with low self-esteem are more likely to have such symptoms detected with the help of Lüscher color test as propensity to introversion and attachment need, hypersensitivity to negative estimation, unsociability, emotional tension, and people with high and inflated self-concept are statistically more likely to deny need for relaxation and to go actively where the action is, they are likely to have «normative color choice» and leader aspiration. Therefore color choice – self-esteem ratio is important in many applied psycho diagnostic tasks.
