On the Criteria for Determining Individual Differences in Voluntary Recall (the Case of Longitudinal Research)

Author(s)
T. N. Osinina
Abstract
The paper presents the criteria for determining individual differences in voluntary recall based on the longitudinal experiment: the level of handling the original, capturing the essence of the original, a span and qualitative specificity of recalling, preferential ways of reconstruction, an opportunity to build the original into the complex of representations, a diverse use of voluntary recall mechanisms. It is impossible to identify a universal strategy of recalling: every subject when structuring a recall process rely on certain operational mechanisms of mnemic abilities brining subject and subjective-and-personal tendencies in the actualizing process. Individual differences in a span and qualitative specificity of recalling are driven by depth of understanding of the original and a preferential way of handling things memorized.
