Abstract
The assessment of psychological competence of executive heads has been practiced for a long time, but remains a concern since it relates to complexity of comprehensive development of competence components, criteria and tools of their assessment. The study is based on the complex approach to developing assessment procedures. The article gives rationale for this approach to increase the validity and reliability of the data obtained. The competence diagnosis is based on the assessment of core competencies forming the structure of competence, and on competence components viewing it from different perspectives. The study has found that psychological competence of executive heads has a complex integral structure irrespective of gender, education, company type, and management experience. In conclusion, the author gives the assessment of expert methods of competence diagnosis.
