Vocational Preferences of Underachieving Adolescents with Various Levels of Communicative Competence

Abstract

The relevance of the study is the search for effective ways of providing psychological help for underachieving adolescents with their vocational identity formation. The paper presents the results of the comparative study of vocational preferences of underachieving students of 8-9 grades of secondary school with various levels of communicative competence. The study has revealed that the degree of expressiveness of vocational preferences of low achievers depends on the level of their communicative competence. The study formed the basis for providing recommendations to improve psychological and pedagogical vocational guidance, which were based on the differentiated approach in vocational and personal identity formation of low achievers depending on the level of their communicative competence.
