Abstract

Officers participating in hostilities often face challenges taking the form of stress disorder. Most of them fail to take a constructive strategy to avoid emotionally stressful situations. The fact that these officers are in urgent need in their successful integration into peacetime life is well founded. Senior officers deserve special attention as they are in charge of not only the results of their own activities, but the results of their subordinates’ activities. This problem needs to be properly addressed, and ways to reduce posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms have to be found. It is necessary to reinforce their internal resources to adapt to peaceful time life and improve their psycho-emotional condition. The paper presents the results of the experimental testing of counseling and rehabilitation program for senior officers suffering post-traumatic stress after taking part in hostilities.
