Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of peculiarities of development of emotional intelligence of students under psychological and pedagogical support. The structure of emotional intelligence has been described including cognitive, regulatory, and behavioral components. The authors provided the description of the attributes of emotional intelligence of students majoring in different areas. Peculiarities of emotional intelligence at the student age have been revealed. The authors described the development of emotional intelligence of students under psychological and pedagogical support. The measures taken were proved to have led to positive changes in emotional intelligence parameters: the ability to recognize and appreciate emotions of other people increases, the demonstration of one’s own feelings becomes less vivid, the ability to self-regulate in emotionally charged situations increases.
