The Role of Intuition in the Work of Law Enforcement Officials

Author(s)
T. N. Mikhailova
Abstract
Intuition of law enforcement officials and its role for their work is under study. Various kinds of intuition identified by modern psychologists are analyzed. Intuition is seen as a component of perception taking part in getting new knowledge. Special attention is paid to professional intuition of a person. The use of the complementarity principle developed by Niels Bohr by law enforcement officials in their professional activity is justified. According to this principle reason and intuition are thought to be antipodes complementing one another. This approach provides deeper insight into the problem under study and has an effect on shaping professional and cultural competence of a modern law enforcement official.
