Abstract
The issue of compliance to treatment is drawn a lot of attention to nowadays due to the shift to the bio-psycho-social paradigm. Multiple studies stress the role of psychological factors of compliance; in the clinic of the kidney stone disease though these factors are understudied. The study has found that at the hospital treatment stage persons have high and medium level of compliance to treatment. The factors influencing the level of compliance are the type of attitude to the disease and the level of health frustration. Thus, the patients with a high level of compliance tend to have adaptive reactions to a disease, while those with a medium level show maladaptive reactions. The patients with a high level of compliance show social frustration, which is significantly lower according to the indices of frustration of one’s own health and of socio-economic status.
