The article presents the stages of constructing of the research method, which is an independent psychodiagnostic material and it can be used to study the various components of an individual’s innovative activity: search, economic, creative, intellectual and social activities. A psychometric analysis of the properties of this method of research is carried out. The results of the psychometric verification of the author’s semantic differential are presented: the main stages of testing the reliability and validity are described, and the internal congruence and reproducibility of the scales are studied. A representative sample of 672 respondents, including 380 women and 292 men, was formed for the empirical study. This semantic differential is a valid psychodiagnostic method, and can be used for the differentiation of the innovative activity according to the degree of intensity.
