Abstract

The paper presents an analytical survey of modern concepts of developing potential of a media space, the influence of the media on children, adolescents, and adults. The survey revealed that most part of the academic publications note negative and destructive impact of media products on the development processes of children and youth. Educational, corrective, and developmental potential of media texts has not been the object of specific research; the criteria for its measuiring have not been developed. Media content has been studied not using differentiated approach, not taking into account types of media texts; there are no reliable methods of psychological analysis of media texts as guidance to determining their developmental or psyche changing potential. The importance of scientifically developed algorithm for psychological analysis of media texts has been highlighted.
