Gender Approach to the Study of Teacher’s Work

Abstract
The results of social and psychological analysis of gender aspect in teacher’s work are presented. Gender issues in teacher’s work are analyzed in terms of gender approach concepts and provisions. The content of the following phenomena reflecting gender issues is described. They are vertical segregation, gender pay gap, intrapersonal gender conflict of an occupational role, the phenomenon of a professional standard. The phenomenon of «traditional gender norms» is considered with a view that it is one of major factors underlying the modern problems faced by both men and women teachers. The author comes to a conclusion that this code of conduct by men and women does not reflect modern realities and restrict personal and professional self-actualization of women and men.
