Abstract
The article analyses the problem of professional identity formation of the students humanitarians. The authors analyze the wide scope of national and foreign researches devoted to this problem. They studied the stages of professional identity formation and its dependence on these stages of studying. The authors used the methods Twenty statements test and OKI. And with the help of them on the sample of 324 subjects the author revealed the peculiarities of the professional identity development of the students – psychologists, historians, sociologists, social workers and linguists. It was revealed that there exists professional identity crisis which takes place on the second or the third year of education. It was also revealed that only in the case of students-psychologists this professional identity crisis has the tendency to decrease by the final stage of education. The results obtained were compared to the ones received by the other researchers. The authors supposed that the dynamics of professional identity formation is reflected in the quality change characteristics used for self-categorization, their number itself does not reflect the decrease of identity crisis expressiveness.
