Abstract
The paper presents theoretical prerequisites of specificity of value attitude towards paternity of primary school aged children, their interrelation with father’s engagement in their life. The paper brings forward the results of the survey with 135 subjects: 90 parents and 45 boys whose average age was 10,1. The children were divided into two groups according to the level of father’s engagement in their life. The statistical analysis of the data obtained revealed that the children of engaged fathers showed higher performance on the following parameters: gender attitude, gender assessment of the father, moral feeling, responsibility, view of the world around, attitude to labor, attitude to the other person, positive attitude to a family, family value, healthy lifestyle, and self-acceptance. While children of non-engaged fathers showed confusion of ideas about paternity.
