Abstract

The data of the 2014–16 survey involving the Siberian youth are presented. The responds of young people with strong patriotic stand are compared with those of less patriotic young people. Questionnaire was used as a research method. 638 people took part in the survey. Family, nearest and dearest, and friends were on top in the value system of patriotic youth of Siberia. Mutual respect and support are increasingly important for them, they frequently take part (and do it willingly) in community service and environmental action. In relations with other people they prioritize respect to personality of any person. When questioned what reasons influenced deterioration of interethnic relations, patriotic young people placed such personality traits as self-consequence and ethnocentrism on the first place, as well as reluctance to learn about customs and traditions of other people.
